As our dogs age we often notice them slowing down, walking with stiff gaits, limping or becoming less willing to go on long walks. These signs may be more noticeable in winter, on cold mornings or after a large amount of exercise.

In cats we often notice less inclination to jump up on benches, chairs or beds, aggression when patting the hind end or knotted, matted coats from inability to groom. 

Joint supplements and joint support foods are the first step in supporting your ageing pets joints. They should be started early and continued daily for life. They are often combined with Pentosan injections, oral anti-inflammatory pain relief, CBD and Beransa injections under veterinary guidance as the disease progresses. 

Overweight pets suffering with arthritis should be placed on a strict diet to reduce body weight. In many cases the pain scale rating will reduce significantly with weight loss alone.
